by us Chasidim potato cudgel is a very holy food

besides the fact that everyone loves it

however as we all know the best way to eat it is when its very brown Sabbath morning

My question is what is he best way to prepare it for Sabbath morning so it will be well done and very brown?

nuronim » 15/1/2004 23:39

how about friday night? i eat erev shabbes (toiumeho) friday night and shubbes lunch
also its nocer if the brown is crispy

...regards to meshug

shia550 » 15/1/2004 23:59

YES THE BROWN NEEDS TO BE CRISPY

BUT FOR SABBATH LUNCH ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IT WELL DONE IF ITS NOT WET

SO I DON'T THINK ITS AN OPTION TO HAVE CRISPY FOR SABBATH LUNCH
SINCE IT HAS TO BE WET

SO IF YOU CAN HELP ME WITH A RECIPE FOR SABBATH MORNING KUGEL I WILL GRAB YOU IN TO OLAM HABO

nuronim » 16/1/2004 02:05

WHO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A GOOD APPLE KUGEL?

nuronim » 21/1/2004 03:46

APPLE KUGEL IV
Source: Mrs. Abramoff

Yield: 1 pan

1 package of noodles
5 apples
1 c. sugar
1 c. oil
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Mix everything together. Put in noodles. Put it in a pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes uncovered. Enjoy!

If you don't want it too sweet you can use less sugar. I tried it and some people told me to add half a cup of sugar instead of one. Your choice. Also if five apples are too many than you can use 3.
