Dear Friend,

On Friday, September 16, 2011, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a draconian sentence on Sholom Rubashkin, a sentence which is essentially a life sentence for him and his wife and 10 children.

We now have a unique opportunity -- for the sake of justice -- to express our outrage for this sentence and actually make a difference. If it can happen to Sholom Rubashkin it can happen to anyone!

The White House has released just TODAY a new tool to allow people to influence goverment called "We the People<https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/call-investigation-allegations-prosecutorial-judicial-misconduct-case-sholom-rubashkin/tj7Fx42T>." It is essentially a petition site, and they promise: "If a petition meets the signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the Administration and an official response will be issued. And we'll make sure that the petition is sent to the appropriate policy makers in the Administration." The White House promises an official response to every petition that garners at least 5000 signatures in a span of 30 days.

This is a petition that really matters, so please use this as an opportunity to help Sholom Rubashkin.

I think we need at least 50,000 signatures, if there is any hope that it'll make an impact.

Also, we don't have to get discouraged at all that there is other petitions with higher votes, its self understood that issues about public policy that has been raised for many years, will have a much broader response than a isolated issue that  technically only effects a specific person - and his family/friends, as important we feel about this cause, you still can't realy expect that every person in America  should have an interest or awareness about an issue involoving an individule person that has after all been convicted of all the alleged crimes

I'm sure the white house is well aware of this

Our goal should be to stay in the top 5 and reach the 50,000 threshold


Then maybe maybe it'll have some results

That's my opion

"The Rubashkin Kiosk"

as i said before the goal has to be at-least 50,000

we also must keep in mind an important thing

the idea of this petition is not necceserily that we are communicating with the president and we are expecting that the president him self will take immidiate action,

the main concept is that the Rubashkin cause is ONLINE and on a popular website like whitehouse.gov, and raise the maximum exposure and awareness, you cant have a more popular site than this

Surpassing the top petition looks more and more unfeasible, it is ahead with an apparent insurmountable number, we would probably need an additional 25,000 signatures, to overcome the lead, highly unlikely to get it in less then 2 days. But not the end of the world, no reason to get discourage at all. We should aim for the 50,000 goal; put a safe distance between our petition and the one behind us, and let the rest into the hands of Hashem.

URGENT!!

The Rubashkin petition is still open for more signatures, even after the so called time limit, it appears that the 30 days time limit is only there, if the petition didn't reach the signature threshold within the 30 days then it's not going to get a response. But it doesn't matter if we keep on adding beyond the 30 days, it definitely doesn't hurt.

So lets keep on tacking on more, today, tomorrow and beyond, until we get the hopefully positive response.
