Brooklyn, NY - As the search for Leibby Kletzky passes the twenty hour mark, volunteers from all over the New York metropolitan area are doing everything in their power to bring the nine year old home to his family. Assemblyman Dov Hikind has announced that the reward for the missing boy is now up to $100,000 as two anonymous community leaders join community members in opening their wallets in the hopes that the large sum will entice someone to come forward with information that might lead to the safe return of the child.

Leibby was reported missing yesterday after failing to meet his mother after leaving the Boyaner Day Camp on 44th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues in Borough Park. Leibby has light brown hair, black glasses and was wearing a grey and light blue striped shirt, navy pants, black sneakers and a knapsack bearing the words “Nechmod Day Camp” when he was last seen.

Chaim Deutsch of the Flatbush Shomrim told VIN News that the joint Shomrim forces have put out a call for volunteers from all over to join in the massive search. Volunteers are asked to report to 61st Street, between 15th and 16th Avenues at 5 PM. Busloads of volunteers from many areas including the Catskills, Lakewood and Monsey are expected to join the search later today.

Meanwhile, VIN News has learned that the case has come to the attention of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Alexandria, Virginia based organization that was founded twenty seven years ago to help find missing children and they are hoping to put together a profile of Leibby Kletzky to add to their registry.

Anyone with information regarding Leibby’s disappearance is urged to contact the police at 718-851-5641 or Shomrim at 718-871-6666 immediately.

Brooklyn, NY - NY Alert Issued in Missing Child Case

Published on:   Today 06:40 PM
ews Source: VIN News by Sandy Eller

Brooklyn, NY - Frustration mounts as hundreds of volunteers continue to comb Brooklyn in search of Leibby Kletzky who has been missing for 25 hours.  Hundreds of new volunteers from the New York area and beyond are pouring into the command center, with some from as far away as Baltimore, hoping to do whatever they can to bring Leibby home to his family.

The youngster was last seen leaving the Boyan Day Camp on 44th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues.  NBC News reports that sources say that yesterday was the first time the boy was allowed to leave camp on his own.

Meanwhile, The New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services has issued an Alert for the boy, stating that he was last seen on 44th Street near 12th Avenue at 4:50 PM.  Leibby is described as being four feet tall, weighing fifty pounds with black hair and brown eyes and anyone who has seen him is requested to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
''There is nothing new to report at this point in time,'' said Chaim Deutsch of the Flatbush Shomrim patrol to VIN News.
As hundreds of people take to the streets to participate in the search, Tehillim is being said worldwide for the missing boy, with a special Tehillim Teleconference scheduled for 10:45 PM EDT by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation.  To join the teleconference, call 718-258-2008 and enter the number nine at both prompts.

A text message blast went out earlier to mobilize a search in Borough Park, Brooklyn for nine-year-old Leibby Kletzky, who was last seen leaving a local day camp yesterday, and community leaders are offering $100,000 for any information leading to the boy's return.

The boy's father left with police officers this afternoon for undisclosed reasons, and it's unclear where they were taking him.

Authorities say Leibby was last seen leaving the Boyan Day Camp on 1205 44th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

He went missing after a previously arranged break from his normal routine.

“He normally took a bus down, you know, like every child, he wanted a little bit of independence, wanted to do a little bit of walking on his own,” said Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind. “So they had decided that they were going to — instead of walking all the way home, the mother was going to meet him just two blocks or so away from the day camp. The day camp is at 12th Avenue and 44th street, and the mother was meeting him at 13th Avenue, just one street over. Never arrived. Never showed up.”

Leibby, also known by the Hebrew name "Yehuda ben Esther," is four feet tall and weighs 50 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with green and white stripes, blue pants, a black leather belt, black socks and black sneakers, and had a knapsack labeled “Nechmod Day Camp.”

Police and volunteers canvassed the area last night and searched stores, alleyways and backyards.

Hikind and two other community leaders are offering $100,000 to anyone with information leading to the boy's safe return.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the the Shomrim Patrol at 1-718-871-6666 or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. They can also reach Crime Stoppers by texting CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visitingwww.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation joined in the search for a missing nine-year-old Brooklyn boy Tuesday night.

Police are using surveillance video to try to piece together what may have happened.

Investigators say Leibby Kletzky was last seen around 5:00 p.m. Monday leaving Boyan Day Camp on 44th Street in Borough Park.

The surveillance video was taken from a nearby locksmith. It clearly shows Kletzky walking by.

Authorities and hundreds of volunteers continued to canvass the area into the night, searching stores, alleyways and backyards.

"Supposed to be my time with my kids, and I can't spend time with my kids knowing someone else's kid is missing," said a parent.

A $100,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to Kletzky's safe return.

He is described as 4-feet-tall, weighing 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a striped shirt, blue pants and black sneakers.

FIRST REPORT: Levi Aron Overdosed Leiby Kletzky

FIRST REPORT: Levi Aron Overdosed Leiby Kletzky

(Wednesday, July 20th, 2011)

12:15PM EST: A highly credible source tells YWN that the cause of death in the murder of Leiby Kletzky A''H, was overdose.

The source tells us that Levi Aron reportedly overdosed Leiby of four different medications prior to suffocating him.

This information is going to be released in a report by the office of the NYC Medical Examiner, and will be used in the indictment by Kings County Charles Hynes.

פשווארסק » 20/7/2011 20:15

Borough Park, NY - The medical examiner has officially ruled the death of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky a homicide, saying he was drugged and smothered.

The autopsy found that Kletzky suffered intoxication by the combined effects of cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant), quetiapine (antipsychotic), hydrocodone (pain medication), and acetaminophen (Tylenol) followed by smothering.

Police are still searching Aron’s Kensington home seven days after his arrest for allegedly kidnapping, killing and dismembering Leiby Kletzky.

Kidnapped Boy Was Drugged Before He Died: ME

By Jonathan Dienst and Shimon Prokupecz
| Wednesday, Jul 20, 2011 | Updated 1:18 PM EDT
An 8-year-old Brooklyn boy who was kidnapped, killed and dismembered had been drugged before he was smothered to death, including with a drug used to treat schizophrenia, the medical examiner said.

The medical examiner said Leibby Kletzky had been given muscle relaxant, anti-psychotic drugs, painkillers and Tylenol before he was killed. The anti-psychotic drug, quetiapine, is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia, and can also be used for depression and other episodes of mania.

A grand jury indictment could come today charging Levi Aron, a 35-year-old hardware store clerk, in the killing.

Prosecutors have charged Aron with first-degree murder and kidnapping. He pleaded not guilty and his lawyers have said he hears voices and sees hallucinations.

He is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital.

Kletzky was abducted after he left day camp the afternoon of July 11. He was supposed to walk seven blocks to meet his parents, but got lost and encountered Aron on the street.

Aron told police in a confession that was obtained by NBC New York that he took the boy, later panicking when he saw the missing person reports.

He says he suffocated the boy and then dismembered his body, disposing of some parts in a Dumpster.

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said that when he met with the family of the boy on Tuesday, he "gave them my commitment that I would do everything necessary to make sure we brought justice to the memory of Leibby."
