Photo: EliBrooklyn, NY - As the search for Leibby Kletzky passes the twenty hour mark, volunteers from all over the New York metropolitan area are doing everything in their power to bring the nine year old home to his family. Assemblyman Dov Hikind has announced that the reward for the missing boy is now up to $100,000 as two anonymous community leaders join community members in opening their wallets in the hopes that the large sum will entice someone to come forward with information that might lead to the safe return of the child.
Leibby was reported missing yesterday after failing to meet his mother after leaving the Boyaner Day Camp on 44th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues in Borough Park. Leibby has light brown hair, black glasses and was wearing a grey and light blue striped shirt, navy pants, black sneakers and a knapsack bearing the words “Nechmod Day Camp” when he was last seen.
Chaim Deutsch of the Flatbush Shomrim told VIN News that the joint Shomrim forces have put out a call for volunteers from all over to join in the massive search. Volunteers are asked to report to 61st Street, between 15th and 16th Avenues at 5 PM. Busloads of volunteers from many areas including the Catskills, Lakewood and Monsey are expected to join the search later today.
Meanwhile, VIN News has learned that the case has come to the attention of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Alexandria, Virginia based organization that was founded twenty seven years ago to help find missing children and they are hoping to put together a profile of Leibby Kletzky to add to their registry.
Anyone with information regarding Leibby’s disappearance is urged to contact the police at 718-851-5641 or Shomrim at 718-871-6666 immediately.

Search Continues For Missing Brooklyn Boy
The boy's father left with police officers this afternoon for undisclosed reasons, and it's unclear where they were taking him.
Authorities say Leibby was last seen leaving the Boyan Day Camp on 1205 44th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.
He went missing after a previously arranged break from his normal routine.
“He normally took a bus down, you know, like every child, he wanted a little bit of independence, wanted to do a little bit of walking on his own,” said Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind. “So they had decided that they were going to — instead of walking all the way home, the mother was going to meet him just two blocks or so away from the day camp. The day camp is at 12th Avenue and 44th street, and the mother was meeting him at 13th Avenue, just one street over. Never arrived. Never showed up.”
Leibby, also known by the Hebrew name "Yehuda ben Esther," is four feet tall and weighs 50 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with green and white stripes, blue pants, a black leather belt, black socks and black sneakers, and had a knapsack labeled “Nechmod Day Camp.”
Police and volunteers canvassed the area last night and searched stores, alleyways and backyards.
Hikind and two other community leaders are offering $100,000 to anyone with information leading to the boy's safe return.
Anyone with information on the case should contact the the Shomrim Patrol at 1-718-871-6666 or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. They can also reach Crime Stoppers by texting CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visitingwww.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

FIRST REPORT: Levi Aron Overdosed Leiby Kletzky
(Wednesday, July 20th, 2011)
12:15PM EST: A highly credible source tells YWN that the cause of death in the murder of Leiby Kletzky A''H, was overdose.
The source tells us that Levi Aron reportedly overdosed Leiby of four different medications prior to suffocating him.
This information is going to be released in a report by the office of the NYC Medical Examiner, and will be used in the indictment by Kings County Charles Hynes.

Borough Park, NY - The medical examiner has officially ruled the death of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky a homicide, saying he was drugged and smothered.
The autopsy found that Kletzky suffered intoxication by the combined effects of cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant), quetiapine (antipsychotic), hydrocodone (pain medication), and acetaminophen (Tylenol) followed by smothering.
Police are still searching Aron’s Kensington home seven days after his arrest for allegedly kidnapping, killing and dismembering Leiby Kletzky.

The medical examiner said Leibby Kletzky had been given muscle relaxant, anti-psychotic drugs, painkillers and Tylenol before he was killed. The anti-psychotic drug, quetiapine, is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia, and can also be used for depression and other episodes of mania.
A grand jury indictment could come today charging Levi Aron, a 35-year-old hardware store clerk, in the killing.
Prosecutors have charged Aron with first-degree murder and kidnapping. He pleaded not guilty and his lawyers have said he hears voices and sees hallucinations.
He is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital.

Aron told police in a confession that was obtained by NBC New York that he took the boy, later panicking when he saw the missing person reports.
He says he suffocated the boy and then dismembered his body, disposing of some parts in a Dumpster.
Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said that when he met with the family of the boy on Tuesday, he "gave them my commitment that I would do everything necessary to make sure we brought justice to the memory of Leibby."
