Anti Semitsm Alive in the Mountains

For the record, I'm not a self hating Jew. Or a Jew hater. Most frum heimish Jewish people act like they should. Real Menshen. The obey all traffic rules, don't speed and so on.

Let it be stated here that there are lots of locals in the mountains, especially in the Catskill Mountains region that are nasty, ignorant, rude and yes, full fledged anti-Semite. Again, if you live year round in Sullivan County, and read this, please don't get offended. Most of you are really extra nice people. Just like most of the Jewish summer vacationers are. If you are one of the nasty few, shame on you.

Here are some examples… Driving on some roads here in the Catskill Mountains, the speed limit keeps on changing from 55 to 30, to 45 and so on. Driving on the 52 from Liberty, NY to Woodbourne or Ellenville is a good example. When you pass thru the villages of Loch Sheldrake and other local enclaves, the driving speed limit changes from 55 to 30. If you obey the rules then some stupid locals honk on you and tailgate you with their dusty huge pick up trucks. And don't tell me they are just rude drivers. They don't do it to other slow moving pick up trucks. Only when they see a minivan… If you do go a little bit faster, you have the Sheriff and the State Troopers waiting for you and writing tickets left and right. Understandable… They have to bring in revenue for the entire year in the 2 summer months.
