On 23 of chesven, Klal Yisroel suffered a terrible blow, with the sudden premature death of 44-year-old Rabbi Shlomo Feferkorn a''h, a marbitz Torah, talmid chochom, andbaal chessed. But no one is as shattered as his widow and twelve young orphans. Suddenly, they are left without a husband and father. Suddenly, they are left without a breadwinner It is so difficult for children to grow up as orphans – every Shabbos, every Yom Tov, every day, is a challenge, as they try to come to grips with their new life Little boys, barely old enough to read the aleph bais, must go to shul to say Kaddish. Little girls, whose beautiful lives were suddenly turned over, try to be brave, and hide their pain from their carefree friends. And young adults – including one who got married just three weeks after her father's passing – worry about their future, with no father to marry them off We cannot bring Reb Shlomo back home. But we can lessen the pain. We can make sure that his almonoh and yesomim – his young widow and orphans – have enough money for food, clothing, and the other essentials that grant a family security. We can make sure that the children never need to worry about who will marry them off Worthy askanim, dedicated people in the community, have established the Keren Bnei Shlomo Fund, to ensure the future of this family. We, the undersigned, appeal to our brethren – Do not close your ears to the cries of the almonoh and yesomim. Open your heart, and give, so that they can go on, despite their terrible loss Jews in every generation have cared for widows and orphans, with mesirus nefesh. Let us do the same Truthfully, when you send a generous contribution, you are taking advantage of a very special opportunity. Hashem promises us – ''If you bring joy to mine, I will bring joy to you.'' Your contribution will be repaid by the Great Father of Orphans In the zechus – the merit – of this mitzvah, may you be blessed with health, nachas, prosperity, and every bracha in the Torah http://www.kerenbenisholomo.org/Main.asp?CompID=1
